My favorite cap dump options - Part 1

Created by: Lancebmx
Team: 2021-22 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 11, 2021
Published: Jul. 11, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
They probably don't do all of these but these are my favourites.
Trying to fill organizational needs first, then worry about useless players.
I really don't think this team is all that bad and cost nothing but cap space.
Still room for more, I'll do another one with other possibilities of my lesser favourite ones.

Trades
1.
DET
  1. Colton, Ross [RFA Rights]
  2. Foote, Cal [RFA Rights]
  3. Johnson, Tyler
TBL
This could be any combination of players or first round picks. Since both of these players would require protection in the expansion draft I chose them. Colton should get more than the money Tampa wants to pay him which doesn't help their cap situation right now.
Could easily swap or include barre-boulet, raddysh, Katchouk as they are all rfas that require protection I believe.
    2.
    DET
    1. Bokk, Dominik
    2. Foegele, Warren [RFA Rights]
    3. Gardiner, Jake
    4. 2021 2nd round pick (CAR)
    CAR
    1. Svechnikov, Evgeny
    Additional Details:
A second and bokk to take on Gardiner with foegele as a throw in since he wanted a trade. Sending back big brother svechnikov who actually played pretty decent when he got into the line up. Might be able to make something work in Carolina, maybe some decent chemistry with little bro.
    3.
    DET
    SEA
    1. Namestnikov, Vladislav
    Additional Details:
    Expansion Draft Fodder
    4.
    DET
    1. Gostisbehere, Shayne
    2. Patrick, Nolan [RFA Rights]
    3. 2021 2nd round pick (PHI)
    PHI
Not sure the exact value of this dump, I feel like ghost can still put up some points, he just let's more in than he generates. I would take a risk on Patrick in this case, other wise stay away.

Probably have to drop the second down if foegele is included, I was just trying to display the options.

Foegele and Bokk worth more than a 1.2 million? If yes, we would just buy him out

The Carolina deal is off by quite a deal.

Gardiner + 2nd for future considerations
      +
      Foegele for Svech + 3rd
      =
      Gardiner + Foegele + 3rd for Svechnikov OR Gardiner + Foegele + Bokk for Svechnikov + 3rd

I think your signings are all a bit low and the trades are in red wings favour but yes I would love if this happened

Way too much for Canes to pay. Svech doesn’t crack the lineup, that’s just a sentimental move and the Canes don’t make moves like that. Either buy Gardiner out or find another team if this is what DET expects.

honestly, i don't say it costing much if anything to move johnson he had a turnaround playoff season that could make him worth something

Yeah it's all ideal situations and if the trades aren't in the wings favour why do them?

Solid point haha, but you can have trades that are fair and work for both sides.

Have to make the playoffs first, teams that would benefit from him the most are contending teams and most of not all don't have the money to take him on. Gotta remember he's been regressing lately, 3 more years of his deal is still a long time. Alot of players can elevate in the playoffs and when you are surrounded by elite talent like in Tampa can make a player look even better. But I do agree he was very good in the playoffs.
      Asd24 liked this.

Well I look at the Tampa one, although Johnson was good these playoffs, their cap crunch with his term and steady decline in production in the regular season means he should cost a bit to take on. Both the players I included would be exposed to Seattle but could be protected here. That's why I chose them at least.

Sorry forgot to mention the Tampa one that one is the only one that is close to Tampa's side

Give me Gardiner + Foegele or Gardiner + 2nd for futures. Svech does nothing for us but potentially cause issues if his brother doesn’t remain with the team

Ah yeah the Philly one is tough, not sure how much they value Patrick, I would take a risk on Patrick but probably still need some compensation.

I don't think that's ridiculous at all, I was just putting options in.
