Why are people so mad

Created by: oilersguy

Description
I am not mad at all the Oilers defence just got a lot better. we got Keith who will make a great pairing with Larsson, and Keith is a huge upgrade over Jones on the left side. 5,538,462 with NMC suck but it is only for two years. I am also hearing that the pick may be conditional. Kinda off topic but I hope they give Keith an "A" next year.

Maybe the Blackhawks were bad defensively because they play a #6 D too much and that dman is bad...

they are bad defensive because their forwards aren't committed to defence which makes them a high event team

One doesn't cancel the other. Team are rarely bad because of one single thing. A defense with Duncan Keith, Connor Murphy, Riley Stillman, Adam Boqvist, Ian Mitchell, Calvin de Haan, Nicolas Beaudin, Wyatt Kalynuk isn't going to be great. Murphy is the only top4 D here, maybe Boqvist? In addition, they have a poor defensive system.

It a waste of cap space is my point

But cap space is meaningless once you have enough overhead not to worry about this or any succeeding year. What's the difference between having $5 million, $10 million or $15 million in cap space?

Look at this construction here. After absorbing Keith's $5.5 million cap hit, the OP signed a top-line LW for $4 million, re-signed Adam Larsson for $3.5 million, signed an actual shot at a number one goalie for $3 million, re-signed Yamamoto, and still has $10.8 puckin million dollars to sign some more talent and fill out the last three slots in the roster. So Keith's cap hit is all Monopoly money; you've still got enough space to spend $8 million on Gabriel Landeskog or Dougie Hamilton. IF you could get them to come to Edmonton.

Some of the people commenting in this post are going to regret being so ignorant by the middle of next season.
