Going to be hard to get more than what you paid for an ageing player with term left on a big contract after they have a bad year..

but I generally do agree, if he wants to be there then I like him!

Lets try this again. Hes about to turn 30, is a top 4 dman, with 4 yrs left on a ok contract. None of those are huge red flags.

He was traded to the Canucks purely to shed salary as quickly as possible, the value reflected that. I get their are concerns with him having a down yr, and his cap hit but he wasn't that bad at all the cap hit isn't that huge.

The question is how much is a 2-3 defenseman worth in this league. Maybe someone like Brannstrom if it's Ottawa.
