Description
Hopefully they can add a third line centre during the year if they can save some cap space throughout the year. Not much changes but Bertuzzi definitely add another element. If Smith can have the success he had last year while playing less it would be huge.

Wings pass, not close to the package they want.

7-8 teams are in on bertuzzi, leafs are in the division as well going to have to overpay or no go

Most of the mock trades I've seen for Bertuzzi going to the leafs have some combination of Robertson, Liljegren, Sandin, or 1st/2nd picks. This is very far off especially when you compare the price of what Mantha was

Explain something, Freidman said Leafs were interested, and If he were to become AVAILABLE, Leafs should be in on a trade, but if you look at posts on this site, you would be lead to believe Yzerman wants him out at all costs. These offers are mostly comical. Is he Lemieux or Stamkos, no, but offere bottom line wingers and defenseman are a joke.

Wings do not want Leafs cast offs:

Kerfoot
Dermott
Engvall
Mikheyev
as they hold not true value. I have seen Liljegre, but Wings are pretty stacked at RHD, they need LHD. And picks for 2022 & 2023 are to far out to help the rebuild now.

Lastly, Wings DO NOT have to trade Bert, there does not seem to be an urgency, So why does it seem like Leafs fans assume Wings are doing everything to dump him and take crap back?

There was a salary dump involved with Mantha, that's why the return was so high

Ya I did forget about that part but the salary dump wasn't a ridiculous amount, probably accounted for the 2nd round pick so that would mean that Mantha cost a 1st,and Vrana. Still shows that Detroit prices are high

Bertuzzi is always hurt. You aren't getting a grade A prospect for him

Yzerman doesn't care about that, they aren't in any contention to be relevant for a while

Detroit does not have to trade Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi have not asked for a trade.

Detroit have not put Bertuzzi on the block.

This is you trying to trade for a player Detroit doesn't want to lose.
