Description
Hard to believe the Coyotes aren't locking Garland down. They seem weak at RHD, especially if Hjalmarsson or Goligoski don't re-sign. Acquiring an early 2nd rounder from the Kings helps ease the pain of losing a 1st rounder in this trade, and surely Arizona is wanting to get back in the draft. If this trade is not enough, perhaps Ryan Ellis for Garland? Not sure, but I love the way that dude plays and whoever gets him is gonna be lucky.

Trenin + Ingram is my official prediction for Preds in the expansion draft.

Don't see Tomasino playin all 82 this coming season. Add Stepan in there for a solid 3C allowing Preds to shelter Tomasino with some vets.

I like this lineup, but I'm not deadset on trading Cousins, Grimaldi, Boroweicki. I like what those guys bring to the lineup and with expected injuries they are worth keeping around.

Saros is notorious for his slow starts so I think it's important to bring in someone with experience.

Need to work on signing Forsberg long term. And, I'm convinced Ekholm will be affordable to re-sign and well worth keeping him around.

You might be right. I'll go 5.5 x 5. I really don't think he will or should get more than Binnington's 6 x 6.

Why would NSH offer up Trenin and Ingram to be selected in expansion

I would understand if ur enticing them to take a player but those 2 on their own doesnt make sense

Binnington helped to lead his team to being Stanley Cup Champions. Binnington and Saros have pretty similar stat lines so I'd say Binnington is probably a decent comparable. Binnington's price would be inflated by having a cup so Saros should come in a tad under Binnington.

Why is Seattle getting two young players? They can only select 1 and they aren't taking a bad contract.

I agree with you 100% on Binnington/Saros. That was my thought process too.

My line of think for expansion selection is that Poile does not want to leave it up to chance. I think he'll actually want to keep Duchene/Johansen or at least not pay the price for Seattle to take one of them. I think Trenin is the most expendable piece out of Sissons, Jarnkrok, Jeannot and Olivier. So I think Poile would use Ingram (good, young goalie to fill out roster or who team) as the sweetener to take Trenin

Just my two cents. I think he could go a lot of directions.

Agree to disagree. I think Binnington was much more accomplished at the time of signing his deal. We shall see!
