Minnesota declines that in a heartbeat. Hartman is a glue guy. Dermott is a 7-8 D.

Dermott is an underrated young defenseman and easily a top 4 player on Minnesota's left side. Easily brings value to any defensive core I find it frustrating when people judge him off of one mistake in the playoffs and his offensive performance on less than 13 minutes of ice time per night.

No from MN. Bottom pair d-men are easy enough to find as UFAs.

Soucy is better than Dermott, Brodin is much better than Dermott. Heck re-sign Cole for 2 years and let him babysit Spurgeon; that is a just as easy for the 2nd pair.

I'm not judging him on 1 mistake in the Playoffs. Dermott is not the d-man MN needs, and Hartman is a FWD that MN needs. It's simply a trade that doesn't work for MN.
