I presume this is done in the off-season as it would leave Dallas without a goalie. But I like it to an extent; it allows them to pursue Bishop or Fleury, if he's bought out, but it cripples their next weakest positional need even more. Their Defence sucks and Klingberg is the best of the lot. They would have to make another move to being in another defenceman to justify this trade.

Dallas has put up with the two goalies at 10.4m so far, maybe one more year is OK in their eyes. But a unique concept for the trade.
Arizona takes on LTIR contracts, guys they have retired, to up their cap. Your suggestion, that the Leafs actually take on a ton of money for a year....nice thought.
