No one is likely to trade young roster players for Eichel until he recovers from surgery. A trade will center around picks and prospects not in the NHL.

If Weber qualifies for LTIR, he goes on LTIR as a Hab, and it doesn't affect the Preds at all. MTL can't force Weber to retire against his will. NSH declines. Weber's contract is still MTL's problem.

No. Actually he is probably going to retires if he can't play and if he did it screws Nashville more. The reason that Nashville wants his contract it's because of the risk that retiring is. It seems he already think of retiring and because of that offer sheet, nashville will be soo much penalize , so taking him and putting on the ltir untill the end of the contract is the best from them.

Yes like you did, until he is fully recovered I would do 2 1sts (2021 and 2023) Drouin, Mysak, Guhle, Fleury, 2022 2nd

If he can't play because of injuries, he goes on LTIR. If he doesn't qualify for LTIR as a Hab, he doesn't qualify for LTIR as a Pred.

Except the NHL is rumored to be against Weber going on LTIR so the Preds either get the penalty or he continues playing for Montreal.

Because the habs don't give a clue if he's retiring or not at this point.

Right so either Montreal get the approval they applied for and he goes on Habs LTIR or they are denied LTIR and Weber retires and preds get the recap penalty either way Preds aren't trading for his contract.

The Habs ALREADY requested to put Weber on LTIR the league is considering it but have not approved it yet. That is why Nashville won't trade for him
