The Nashville trade is a win-win. The Preds now can re-build their D core and PIT gets Jarnkrok who I think fits the team.

Why would NSH want Pettersson though? He's too expensive for a 3rd pairing defenseman, and he wouldn't get any higher in the lineup than that, with Josi and Ekholm already on NSH's left side. The length of his contract isn't a benefit for them either, as he'd be blocking Davies, Farrance, Del Gaizo from getting icetime in the coming years.

Bengtsson isn't worth future considerations, so he doesn't add any value here either.
