I fully expect Chris Drury to overpay for someone. Personally, I’d evaluate Soucy as a late 1st (25+) but the Rangers can’t give Seattle that.

You guys sure Soucy is a capable 2nd pairing? I see him more of a good 3rd and I wouldn’t give up more than a 2nd for him

I like it and all but.... the rangers have said they want to win and this roster is the same from last season (almost to 99% same) but I would guess they trade for like Gio (trade rumors) for strome and try to get a good second center (Phillip Danault) and third center (Vincent Trocheck) and also try to sign Pierre-Édouard Bellemare and also Luke Glendening and then trade for Reaves this is good because Gallent knows them (besides Luke Glending) and was good with them soo yah and also great depth and grith. Also trade to sign a really big d-man not Chara big but like 6'3 - 6'2 height because look at tampa their d-man were big and good puck moving and also same for the habs... also possibly trade Georgiev if we need the cap space ....

Go for Vince Dunn. Soucy isn't that good.

Trocheck is a 2C whos not for sale, if theres any Gallant connection we should entertain its Nosek and Soucy himself is 6'5

Dunn is their future on D, no chance

We just need him to eat defensive minutes

I have him pegged for the good 3LD role.

Mark Giordano was definitely a name who would’ve made a lot of sense but it seems clear that he’s a staple for the Kraken’s inaugural season. My assumption was that Seattle’s LD core will be Giordano-Oleksiak-Fleury, which is why I think Soucy would be the strongest possible player that the Rangers could pick up from them. On top of that he fits the burly physical style that the Rangers are going after. For reference, he is 6’5 which fits the bill that you’re describing at the end of your message.

In the end, I have doubts that Drury will shakeup the front six for now. As much as I’d love to have Phillip Danault I don’t really see him as a practical target. As for the rest of the names, Trochek won’t leave Carolina, and I guess it wouldn’t hurt to have Glendening or Bellemare, but I don’t think Kevin Rooney is in serious jeopardy of losing the 4C job.

Edit: forgot to address Reaves. I don’t see that happening now that Barclay Goodrow appears to be a big staple in the team’s future.
