Stars fans what do you think

Description
I don’t know too much about Gurianov’s value or the Star’s needs other than they seem to have a lot of holes on D. Mayfield is a very solid top4 stay at home guy on a extremely team friendly deal with a pretty good forward prospect on Bellows.

Let me know if I am way off here.

Dougie doesnt sign that tho thats a ballsy move to go after him. The D wasnt the issue, our 1 issue was we needed a scorer and all we did was replace ebs with gurianov. I like gurianov but downgrading at our 1 weak point doesnt make much sense to me. Also i dont think either of zajac or parise sign anywhere to be a healthy scratch.

I think I am really putting a lot of faith in Wally here. Dougie would be a great PP threat. Swap panik with parise then.

I like wally as well but idk how much he can improve. Imo at best ebs+20-21 wally = 21-22 wally+gurianov. So we didnt really help out in that regard. I also dont want hamilton bc then dobsons gonna be playing 3rd pair minutes for a long time. And if we're picking between pulock and hamilton i want pulock. He plays a style much hetter suited for the islanders and i have 100% confidence he'll refind his offensive game next year.

What’s the deal with Bellows? From an outsiders perspective, it feels like he’s been “on the cusp” of breaking into the NHL for the last 3 years.

As a Stars fan, I don’t hate a Gurianov trade that brings in Mayfield + additional pieces, but with scoring being something Dallas needs more of & my own personal doubts about Bellows, I don’t think this particular deal does it.

Just doesn't fit with Trotz. He clearly has talent, he just needs the opportunity. I think the Stars would be a great fit for him.

I'd rather not give up Mayfield for Gurianov. I think Bellows should be moved in a "change of scenery" move. Do you have any RW prospects available? What's Ty Dellandrea's deal?

Dellandrea saw a decent amount of NHL time last season & SHOULD have stayed in the NHL, but Bowness has a proclivity to value veteran leadership over on ice talent, which is Dellandrea was sent back down in favor of Justin Dowling & Tanner Kero.

Dellandrea won't be a top line forward or anything, but he has the potential to be a poor man's Sean Couturier in the middle-6. Sound forward in all zones on the ice, but without the top-6 upside of someone like Couturier.

Tough to stomach a Dellandrea trade right now, but I wouldn't classify him as "untouchable" either.

So likely not something around Bellows and Dellandrea. Not sure what the Stars have that we could use aside from just draft picks.

This is fair. It just seems there isn’t a good Leddy replacement out there to he had. Sutter is fine but he lacks offensive upside. After that it’s Riley who probably goes back to Boston, and Martinez who probably makes as much as Leddy anyway. Hamilton would be awesome IMO in that he can help the offense and make a our D super deep.

However he is not a great fit as you said. He probably makes too much money and as a RHD he blocks Dobson. I really would love to pair Sutter with Dobson as the 2nd pair but Greene-Mayfield could be horrible as neither can really skate. I feel like Mayfield needs a good skater to compliment him and Greene is not it. Salo and Bolduc seem like options however I doubt they see any run early on at least.

Thats my point. Year 1 is martinez-mayfield and ?-dobson (i want edler but it will probably be greene. Id much rather greene as the 7th dman). Year 2 will be martinez-dobson and salo/bolduc-mayfield.
