Dubas does not know how to pay players over 1 million dollars!!!

Interesting that a top 8 team in the league for few years,,,doesn't have even one good contract according to this post.

Matthews would 100% of received a offer sheet and reports were that Mitch had one offer but did not sign it

But if Nylander sat out the year things may have gone differently

Top 8 in in the postseason?

At least the team has made the playoffs in the past few years.....That easily puts them in the top 12. So called good teams have won just two in rounds in past seasons.
Now I have gone on record for years that Leaf paid 4.5m too much for their top three RFAs...at the time of the signings. Yea that hurt them. But c'mon you make it sound like the Leaf have a horrid cap problem caused by multiple bad contracts.

No Lou not giving Mitch his full bonus on his ELC was an issue for Paul and he made the Leafs pay for that. MM agent even said they took a discount on his ELC with not getting all the bonuses.
Our payroll structure is a mess but let not pretend that having 3 highly skilled players under the age of 25 is the reason the leafs are in trouble.
We continue to fill the holes with the wrong type of players! We took the forever loser Joe or Perry who has proven time and again that he is the type of guy you need in the playoffs.
