I like the idea of getting geekie. I love him. He can fill in for Tanev, while Blueger leads the line.

If I had to guess I think there was a reason those 2 guys weren’t picked by Seattle. I think they want to weponize their cap. Taking on picks and prospects to absorb roster players. Right track but there gonna want more assets coming with those 2.

Of course all just speculation.

Yeah if I had to guess yeah. Just due to the cap hits on the players. There both high and over by about 1-2 million. To a team that wants to keep cap low and utilize it to take on bad cap hits for assets there will need to be more incentive to take those on.

To take on our two worst contracts we are probably going to give up Poulin or Legare and a pick. I can’t see that

Worst contracts? Huh? What? No. Zucker should be making 1 million less than what hes getting paid. Pettersson is signed long term and is 24. If anything a pick.

Petterssom for Mackdermid straight up is fair imo. Both are young and need a change of scenery. Zucker + pick for Geekie makes sense because Zucker needs a change of scenery and SEA needs top 6 forwards. Maybe pens add a little but not our top prospect for a 3rd or 4th line and a 2rd pairing F

I don’t think Pettersson is a bad player at all but he’s overpaid and has a decent amount of time left. Zucker is about 2 million per year overpaid. No way is he worth 5 or so million. If he goes to a team that’s depleted in their top 6 he’s not scoring 20 goals

He didnt fit on this team, he needs a bounce back and in order to do that he needs a change of scenery

Maybe a second. Dumping nearly 10 million in cap is huge. Even if it’s with decent players. I’m speculating but a second could be enough to convince them to take on that money. Just spitballing cuz geekie is a good player as well and cheap so it’ll need to be a decent asset going back.

Also if nick foligno becomes a pen. I may vomit. Lol. And did Sam lafferty have a bad season? I remember him looking real well the last Normal year.
