What is Toronto getting in value???
Also marner never waives for Columbus.
If that’s the cost to bring marner in. Then you do it lol idc if it doesn’t fit, you make it fit.

Clown takes. You play nhl 24 and don’t watch blue jacket games which I wouldn’t blame you. Cbj games can suck to watch but sillinger is a great player and provides decent offensive chances and puts up stops defensively. Just a dumb take to say otherwise. Bro can’t drink in the states yet and you’re writing him off as a b6 forward.

Love how he said add a player with middle six upside and a first and you add a third. With respect, get a clue. We want the equivalent of 3 firsts for Jenner. Or a really good prospect and late first. As he said. This offer doesn’t come close.

Would agree with Thomas. Don’t know what d prospect you would ask for. Jiricek can’t happen. Unless it’s only him and small adds. (Like a second or cuelemans) Didn’t think he would be available hence that sentence. We need a top right shot defender more than anny other position (assuming Fantilli doesn’t bust out lol) and he is him as far as our process is concerned.

Who Says No
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>Which half of the guys won't have any value? Only Gaudreau, Jenner, Gudbranson, Severson and Merzlikins are signed through 2025-26 or later and will be over the age of 28.
If we wait a couple years, Fantilli, Brindley, Sillinger, Johnson, Mateychuk, and Jiricek won't have even hit their prime, they'll be 23 or younger. Texier, Marchenko, Voronkov, Chinakhov will be 26 or younger, just finally hitting their prime. Werenski and Laine will be 28.
I think people forget just how young this team is, 2nd youngest in the league. There really isn't an option other than wait for the next core to develop. Building around Jenner, Gaudreau, etc. isn't it. We tried that this year, and it's clear there isn't enough supporting cast to push for the playoffs yet. It's 100% fine to let the young core develop another couple of years and let Gaudreau, Jenner, and any other vets that stick around take lesser roles on a more competitive team.</div></div>
I think they are saying a lot of these young guys are gonna bust out.
Which is a fair concern but I don’t see it being as likely.
IMO players hitting their ceilings are as it follows.
Locks are marchy and Fantilli, likely hits are sillinger, voronkov and maybes (50/50s) are Johnson chinakhov and Johnson. This is also to reach full potential not to miss the league like a nail yakupov.

Doesn’t fit the timeline especially with the acquisition cost.
Also targeting wingers is strange as of now with the wingers we have. Unless they are young, like svech it doesn’t make sense.
Don’t really want to move chinakhov either tbh. Of all the Russians he has the highest upside. I see him as a potential buch tbh. Just needs to stay healthy.

Jackets say no. We need strong player leadership with this shift in management.
Makes more sense to keep him than move him for Meh.
Plus nobody wants to talk about him being fantastic last year. Solid defensively and put up a career high in points.

Dallas says no and Columbus would rather target a younger center like beniers (just example) with a massive overpay type trade like this.

In Columbus new gm wants to make his mark. They Think the team is ready to compete (for better or worse, this also assumes jiricek and Johnson commit fully to improving and being given spotlight ) he offers you laine and the 4th overall pick for Tkachuk.

Not exactly sure Montreal and that pressure cooker of a media market is exactly right for a recovering player making more than the top player currently on the squad. Just don’t overly see the fit either way, I wonder if a pit or Carolina come a calling with a aho or poolparty and try to reignite some magic from those finish junior teams. Columbus in a tight spot either way.</div></div>
