Initial Creation Date: Feb. 15, 2017

Description
CHI: This deal is to any team willing but have seen CHI rumored to wanting some defense. Also, pick would be conditional based off playing time.

WPG: I know he'd have to waive his NTC but if so WPG could get a solid healthy goalie back that could share the net with Hellybuyck next year and a defenseman in need of a new team. Plus a 2017 1st Rd. Pick

I don't like trading the first, but you have to give to get. Could move another minor piece or too as well

I hate moving a 1st too but when you are talking about a guy like Little that might make it the only thing worth it Winnipeg. I think this is a good deal because while everyone runs the price up on Duchene/Landy/Hanzel/etc. someone else could get a huge steal that puts them over the top not jsut the Flyers. I did this because they are my team and if Hexy made this move I'd be ecstatic and really think we'd have a shot. Also, if Mase and MDZ weren't UFAs I'd only give up a 2nd/3rd, but there is a little bit of risk involved on WPG's part so a 1st might do it plus they'd have to talk Little into waiving his NTC/NMC which I imagine isn't easy since he has been there since they were Atlanta.

Mason, Pavelok and DelZotto are all UFA in the summer. Philly's first, 15th overall? doesn't get you Little and 68 overall

Well this trade is factoring in that Mase signs an extension to be with Hellybuyck (mentioned in the description) and basically gives Winnipeg a few months to "tryout" MDZ to see if they want to keep him next year to add to their young core of players. Mase could easily fetch Pavs and 68 overall; I only put Pavs in there to even the cap hits. Then you are basically trading MDZ and the 15th pick for Little. I think that is pretty close and if not I'm all for throwing in a prospect but I'd say that is close to good value when Winnipeg has the forward depth to make the move, a goalie to be 1A/1B with Hellybuyck, a top 6 offensive defender, and then factor in they will have two picks in the top 15 that could even be packaged to move up further in the draft or dealt for another player. I think it gives them a lot of flexibility. Thanks for the input though palhal always appreciated.

Nate Elder. Trouble is Hellebuyck is expansion eligible and would likely be claimed by Vegas. In your comment, "Does Mason sign an extension before the trade?' This rarely happens. And if MDZ has gone this far without signing an extension with Flyers, I guess he will wait till July 1st and look at "thirty one" offers. Winnipeg, a non playoff team, in the Western Conference, poor travel, might be worse weather between November and March in the NHL, doesn't scream UFA destination for many. (sorry Winnipegers, your city still a fine place but given the choice....)
Just thinking. I believe DelZotto is from a rich family in the Toronto area. Leafs will be looking for a replacement for Hunwick next summer. Everything being equal, is the Leafs his MDZ's next team?

I was thinking they protect Hellybuyck and expose Mase. I could see MDZ in toronto, but I have a feeling their targeting Shatty and there isn't going to be a place on the team with him. He wants to go somewhere to play I'm sure and I doubt that is TOR - WPG seemed more likely.
