I am wondering what all the speculation about Meier to NJD was all about.
If it didn't going about with 29th pick, I am guessing it is off.

That doesnt even get close to Meier. Feel like sharks were debating moving up and couldnt figure out a deal where 4 and something else went for Meier and 7. From now id say it takes Holtz or unprotected 2022 first to get a convo going

Numerous people were simultaneously reporting

1. Sharks were trying to use Meier +7th to move up in trade
2. Devils were considering a trade to trade down a few slots and add a forward
3. Devils and Sharks were discussing a deal yesterday.

So no, I don't know. But the three things together make it pretty obvious

I think it worked out pretty well with Eklund at #7. That’s a steal.

I agree. Trading Meier for 3 picks up would’ve been a mistake, but we aren’t in that situation

I had Eklund first but kind of tied with Beniers. Mostly just because centers are quite valuable.
