I think it is a bit expensive for Eichel, but the value is skewed oddly because as others mention Buffalo probably doesn't care as much about an older piece in Monahan. Although, Buffalo does need to ice a team and a guy like Monahan who will very likely be improved next season would fetch a ransom at the trade deadline. Could be an astute swap. I like the return for Schmidt, tough to put him right smack in the middle of the division though. I guess Vegas did anyway.
