hahah ik, unfortunately im not Lou. Only reason I did that is bc he left Bailey unprotected in the expansion draft leaving me to believe he could be available.

The Wild can't afford Bailey, but I'm sure some team will take him at the price of two mid-round picks. He has a bad contract weighing his value down.

Yeah basically either the Leo trade or Bailey trade can go for any team. I just used two teams looking for wingers

Seattle didn't take him for free what makes you think you'll get any more than that. 3 young players w great potential and a nice vet along with a pick and zero retained salary for you. All for a guy who doesn't want to play there anymore and is losing trade value by the day... I thought it was a fair deal.

Wild are looking for C's and not Wingers. I understand your reasoning though, just would be better for another team

1- Yes, because they could grab Dunn, which fits with their method of being cheap as possible. Did you see some of the slugs they chose? Let's not pretend that who Francis picked was based on what the players could do on the ice.

2- Umm because Tarasenko is an All-Star talent when fit, and he's fit again. And because multiple teams want him.

3- Oi vey...

Panik - Utterly worthless (with a 2x2.75 cap hit that curtails us from getting actual useful players!) at a position that will be stacked even if Tank goes.
Dal Colle - Absolute garbage. And already 25. What potential? Good grief, man. Are you trying to fool me or yourself with this?
Koivula - A terrible skater who will only help an AHL team... a little bit.
Wilde - The one somewhat interesting, but flawed piece on offer. Not really ready to help now, though.
A 4th two years from now - Eureka! We've struck gold! "/

Reality check: You could make this same exact offer without taking Tarasenko, and the Blues would likely still knock it back.

4- Ha! How on Earth do you figure that?

5- Well, of course YOU did.

I mean look you are right that Tarasenko is an all star talent who at his prime is definitely worth first round picks, all star talent and more in return. However, he wants out of St Louis and he's coming off major I juries and still has a high cap hit. I sure could have put a higher pick maybe a second or Bellows in there too, but I don't think the Blues are going to be able to get much more than that back if the trade hasn't happened already. I also didn't retain a penny of it there which will most likely happen in a deal for him if it happens.

1- He's not "coming off major injuries" - the guy played from March on with no shoudler issues of any kind.

2- The trade hasn't happened because Army isn't going to bend for bad offers. We'll be just fine keeping him around to build value (which he probably will do now that he'll get an actual preseason and practice schedule worth a damn) until someone gets serious.

3- Retention may or may not happen, but if it does it will be worth the trouble.

Seattle didn't take a lot of guys who "for free" because it didn't fit their mold. Not too complicated.
