It doesn’t work without 1 of those two players. Simple as that. You’re getting a premier player in his prime, there are very few players in the league who are untouchable in a trade like this.

I agree that the Sabres don’t win this trade proposal. Question is what player are you looking to get?
I don’t see a lot of teams able to offer a better young guy than Kotkaniemi. Rangers aren’t offering Lafreniere, Ducks not likely trading Zegras, etc. Asking price is gonna have to go down a bit and they’ll have to take quantity over quality.
This also depends on what you think KK’s career outlook is. If you think he’s the next Lars Eller, then it really doesn’t work. I think his ceiling is high
