They probably would be its a lot of pieces, but I still dont like it. Lots of risk in every piece attached. Nothing screams can't miss trade piece in that deal

de Haan- Young defenseman who already would make the top 4 on a goid number of teams. Really the only reason he's not this year is because Seidenberg came out of nowhere.

Dal Colle- Backslid a bit, but is still only 20 years old and adjusting to the AHL. Calling him any less than a high-level prospect would be an unfair assessment.

Alan Quine- Young NHL proven center on a cheap contract. Arguably an ideal 3rd Center.

Add in a first and second rounder, and I really don't see the risk. It would take fantastically bad luck for none of these players and the two picks to pan out well. That's five young assets to a team looking to rebuild. Five. Sure, nothing's "can't miss", but piece is valuable and suited for a team looking to rebuild.

its still a big collection of meh. De Haan is fine, but hes not stud. Dal Colle is fine but hes not lock as a Top 6 NHL player. Alan Quine is just that a bottom 6 player and Avs have many guys like that already in their system, why add another one just to block their guys like Compher and AJ Greer.

LIke I said nothing in the package is worth moving duchene for, the pieces are fine but its still a bit underwhelming and I would hate if they sold him off for a collection of average to decent pieces vs 1 or 2 really good ones

I understand, but the fact Duchene hasn't been moved yet means one of two things:

1. No one is willing to pay the high price Sakic has set. Might have to lower your price.
2. Sakic is waiting until the deadline to trade Duchene so he can get the most out of the trade, but that assumes that there are a lot of teams who are desperate to make the playoffs or win the cup this year.

There really arent that many teams who are so desperate to make the playoffs that they'd sell half their prospect system AND a top 2 defenseman for a non-Franchise Center. The Isles are the closest thing to a desperate buyer right now, and even then, they have a history of trading away good prospects for Top 6 Forwards who end up not panning out (see Alexei Yashin, Thomas Vanek). I'm sorry, but Sakic's asking price for Duchene (Top Defenseman, Two Top Prospects, 1st Round Pick) is too high. He might have to temper his expectations.
