This trade does nothing for Buffalo. They are already heavily invested in a young core at D (dahlin, powers, Johnson, jokiharju, Samuelson). Also Sabres are in a complete rebuild so those to players don't really fit the time line for the team. Any deal with the Sabres will deal with all futures (high end prospects/picks).
