Description
DW said he wanted a vet goalie, center, and winger... so here it is.

Demers is sort of a placeholder and bringing Jumbo back is for me because this is my AGM.

I will say I love the idea of getting Tatar for the middle-six on a decent deal like that.

I would prefer Haula over Bonino but Bonino is fine as long as it’s a 1 year deal.

Tatar would be a excellent pickup. Perfect for what we need

I can see it as a 1yr tryout, career rehab move

Haula just isn't content playing the shutdown 3C role. He wants too much to play in the top-6, but he just doesn't have the chops to stay there. Plus, I want somebody who's really good at faceoffs, and Haula ain't that.

Totally agree. A defensively sound 3C is exactly what we need. I think the only thing haula does bring is. He would be a excellent fit for the 2nd powerplay unit, something that was a major problem last year.

I blame the coaching for our PP failure more than anything. We literally have EK65, Brent Burns, Timo Meier, Labanc, Hertl, Cooch, Kaner, etc, on our team. There should be zero issue with our PP and it definitely isn't missing Eric f++king Haula. Coaches need to wakr the eff up and come up with a better system.

He's 54% and 55% the past 2 seasons in the dot so not sure what you're looking at in terms of getting more out of someone on faceoffs.

I like his skating ability on the 3rd line and like that he has the ability to play on both the PK unit as well as the 2nd unit PP. SJ was interested in him last year until they decided to turn over spots in the bottom 6 to the youngsters, but I think DW could do much much worse than Haula tomorrow. Haula and Bonino are probably about the only 3C candidates that add much to this group in the role that DW is looking for in terms of playing heavy DZ minutes.

You right. I must've got his FO% mixed up with someone else.

I also hear NSH wants him back bad, and I definitely don't wanna get into a bidding war for him. Other than that, I'd be good I guess. (Edit: Nvm... I checked out Haula's fancy stats and they're hot garbage. Bonino is far superior with the underlying metrics)
