That’s fine. You’re not getting Eichel. No one said Eichel had to get traded or that Montreal had to have Eichel. Everyone assumes Buffalo has to trade Eichel. They don’t. And shouldn’t. If you don’t get what you want, you keep him. For 5 years if you have to.

As far as reino, he’s an RFA who’ll be a UFA in his next contract. He’s also not close to the same player. You can get players like him more easily. Jack Eichel, in his prime, with team control for 5 years… never happens. The price for that is and should be a premium.

i understand where you're coming from and i'm not saying he has to come to mtl but when a player is as unhappy as jack is you dont want him around for the next 5 years

a top 5 young goalie, a future top 6 centerman, drouin ( who said he's ready to play) and basically two first rounder is not giving away someone. and it seems like no one is ready to give a big piece for a eichel trade so that's the best they'll get.

The Sabres have 3 goaltending prospects. Not interested. JK is lookin like trash. He’d be buffalo’s third line center (maybe) and we stink. Drouin is nothing to get excited about. Guhle, he’s a decent piece.

I don’t think there’s any way Eichel is traded within the division unless the offer blows everyone else away. I mean, it can’t even be close. Without Caufield or Suzuki, you have no chance at getting him. It’s just facts. They want him in the west.
