the offer sheet, he's a grizzled old hockey-man, he'd never have the balls to offer sheet one of his buddies' players lol

Honestly it’d be a solid play. Not sure if Philly matches cause they also need to sign Sanheim. Or offersheet Sanheim at max 2nd round compensation $4.110 mil for 2-3 years and then Hart at $6.165 mil for 4-5 years. They’ve only got just over $8 mil in cap space, so it’d force them to make another move to try and match. But like mentioned earlier no one uses their brain to actually do something like this in real life.

Sabres pass, not giving you a top 6 forward for your cap dumps. Need to add just to take the cap dumps alone

Russell is a player that will probably be placed on waivers at the beginning of the season and nobody will claim him.

Same thing for Marody.

The only thing that is even remotely exciting for Ottawa is the 5th round pick.

Holden is a solid LD in the playoffs and it showed when he played for Vegas recently.

The last time Holden was traded, the Rangers got a 3rd round pick and a prospect for Holden.

If you want Holden, he can be yours for just one lonely 3rd round pick smile

What I think will happen most likely is that we'll trade Holden to some other team for a 3rd round pick.

And then next year, he'll sign with Edmonton at a hometown discount.

Win-Win for everybody smile

Yup. Force them to break the cap. Get a young goaltender, probably a gamble on the AVV but could pay off huge and get a local franchise goalie for a long time.

For sure. I don’t why offersheets still exist when teams are so hesitant to use them. Like why wouldn’t you want to use every possible avenue to improve your team.
