You think that Vegas could fit all this under the cap? Smith and Tuch only free up $9.75M to Eichel's $10M + need to sign another player ($750k minimum), putting the $1M further away.

I think that Vegas will want to Pacioretty (if he'll waive) or swap Karlsson for one of the two.

This all still leaves Vegas weak on D.

They need to sign Nolan Patrick. Most of Vegas forwards have modified NTC. Pacioretty wont waive to go to Buffalo. Reilly has no trade protection neither does Tuch. Vegas already shed 3.45M with Holden and Reaves this offseason rather easily. They should be able to shed a million or so. Maybe play with 16 players again as they did last year a half dozen times. They could play with 10 players and probably make the playoffs in that division.

Also, you have to consider that Eichel may start the year on LTIR so it wouldn't be 10M this season. Of course, no one really knows this information as the Sabres have refused to share medical records

You have to figure that Nolan Patrick will be signed for $10M/year as well. Eichel is a #2 overall pick in 2015, Patrick is a #2 overall pick in 2017....same same? Comparables!!

Could always include patrick in the deal, retain a few mil on eichel and send over a d prospect as well its convoluted but checks everybody's boxes....except for vegas being short on right wingers.
