We'll take a 2nd round pick if you're desperate.

The chances a 3rd round pick plays in the NHL are not that great.

Do you think the 2.9 million that Russell and Turris will make together just grows on trees?

Good thing you aren't a GM then because you would chase millions of dollars in cap dumps all for a pick you can't use in 3 years.

The Oilers will get destroyed in the first round every year and be forced to sell off McDavid/Draisaitl when they becomes UFAs.

Life is hard I suppose.

It's a 3rd round pick that we won't be able to use in 3 years.

We would then need to spend at least another 3 years trying to develop that pick.

That takes us all the way to the year 2027.

Assuming that pick even has a chance of playing in the NHL.

Our team has burned quite a few bridges with Turris.

He and Russell are due a combined 2.9 million in salary.

All it does burn a hole in our pocket.

We're not interested :/

We? Most people in that fan base would take that. Turris wants to go back and they could use a Bottom-6 center and a veteran on the bottom pair.

Fanbases are the most emotional and the least rational groups of people in professional sport.

The Ottawa Senators fanbase is no exception.

As much as Turris is loved by our fanbase, his value as a hockey player has greatly diminished after we traded him.

He's been bought out by Nashville and placed on waivers by Edmonton.

I expect him to be placed on waivers again towards the beginning of next season.

Whether Turris wants to come back and play for the Sens is irrelevant.

Without the team's consent, that's not his decision to make.

There are better bottom 6 centres available than Turris.

Also, we've already found veteran defencemen for our bottom pair (Holden, Del Zotto).
