NYR Offseason plan based off rumors

Created by: Bloodykisame
Team: 2021-22 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 30, 2021
Published: Jul. 30, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Getting eichel as they stated they dont want skilled players in their bottom 6. They have too many. Honestly, it doesn't make too much sense for me for nyr to get eichel without ziba walking after this year unless he takes a team-friendly contract. The Ottawa deal is essentially them having interest in strome from the get go and his value has rose over the last 2 years. Tierney is just for the 3rd line while ottawa gets a top 6 C/RW.

well people here have a tendency of not understanding players potentials and look at points not just metrics and progression. Easier visualization smile

Good thing we have this platform to discuss trades with examples and not simple dumb answers.

Sabres don't need or want Jones. Set at LD. Would have to be Schneider.

I think if Buffalo expect schnieder chytil and jones would be removed from the package. Eichel is a great player but with how small the market is for him currently and nyr being the only team willing to offer 4 big pieces that would be the trade as suggested.

We don't want Tierney on our team anymore.

Strome is way way way way better than Tierney.

And all it costs to make the swap is a 2nd round pick???

Sign me up!!! smile

i misinterpreted your earlier message. I am basing the deal off of buch's to STL. Ottawa's 2nd will likely be 32-44 and tierney would be a good 3rd replacement for a year at least. Unless NYR had their eyes on another center. But I think something along these lines its realistic.

We have an interest of having Strome on our team, especially if there's an extension.

For Tierney, there's no interest from Ottawa whatsoever because he's not a good fit anymore.

The cost for Tierney should be a late 2nd if there's retention.

If there's no retention, the cost is a 3rd round pick.

Essentially, you're asking for the equivalent of 2 second round picks for Strome.

If Ottawa doesn't extend Strome after trading for him ...

We'll probably trade him for a 1st round pick and some AHL level players

or

A prospect recently drafted in the 1st round and a late 2nd

We're essentially going to profit from your trade idea if it comes into fruition.

I also wouldn't recommend making another trade like the Buchnevich trade with St. Louis.

Try not to sell yourself short smile

Rangers have plenty of center depth but not NHL ready depth and that is the current issue, so a Dvorak would be a better trade where they are also possibly looking for not only a potential back-up goalie, but a goalie that can run with it and become a starter in GEO. There would have to be other pieces there, but Dvorak would make a great 2C and help out that depth the Rangers have not had in while.

I also am thinking dvorak and monahan are nyr best options currently for 2nd line. Eichel because its fun for hype trades but for what NYR have monahhan and dvorak makes the most sense cap sense wise.
