That team was good, idk the problem, if it was the loss of leadership with pavelski or something.

I am still so angry that they chose Karlsson over him.

Karlsson's contract will end and he'll be the same age Pavs was when he wasn't resigned.

Can't blame DW for COVID and Karlsson being injured. Even if the contract was high.

When they kept EK it was at a cost of their depth offensively. Factor in injuries sustained in the 2019-20 season, they didn't have the offensive depth to get past it. I remember at times Joe would be the "1C" b/c both Hertl and Couture were out iwht injuries. Marleau also spent time in the Top 6 in the 2019-20 season. I think had DW let EK walk, Pavelski and one of Donskoi/Nyquist likely re-signs.

I'd rather have Pavs and Joonas + a bottom 4 dman over 1 erik karlsson.
