no thanks. not going to be the sucker team that takes Strome and has him revert to his inferior form away from Panarin. this is the type of trade that absolutely closes the Capitals window

before people get mad there is an obvious reason why the Rangers want anther 1-2c... if strome is this good why not just keep him? smile

No thanks Kuz stats have been lackluster the last few years and he doesn't even look like an upgrade over what strome has been providing. We want dvorak or monahan atm for the second line.

Gauthier and Jones are in every NYR trade now - They're the new Dermott and Engvall.

Kuz is looooads better than Strome and it isn't even close. He'd tear it up with NYR which is why I don't want to trade him there.

Crazy how good Kuz has been the last 3 years considering he isn't even playing his best hockey.

Over the last 3 seasons among starting centers at 5v5/60:
    -8th in primary assists
    -14th in points

    At all strengths/60:
    -8th in primary assists
    -18th in points

The "problem" with Strome is the salary-and cap hit- he's gonna require to go beyond next year. The past 2 years he's averaged .85 pts/game...compared to other C's around the NHL- he's gonna be due a sizeable raise when he can go UFA after next year. Since the $ he's gonna command probably doesn't fit their salary structure probably best recoup assets now- than lose him for nothing....in a way he's a victim of the success he's had playing with AP- but fwiw, in the small sample not playing with AP (before Panarin signed and the few weeks last year he was out) Strome has been pretty effective...he's a real good passer who has seemingly learned to stop taking dumb penalties which previously plagued him.
