Even with his NMC I doubt Florida does that. They just traded a pretty good goalie prospect and a 1st for Reinhart. They won't be using him for a cap dump IMO

Its very rare a player gets asked to waive it and they just refuse.

They would probably do this deal to save real life money. They have other potential top 6 forwards for replacement. its just Bob isn't waiving from Florida where the taxes are less

I get that he won a silver, but hes a 7th rounder and the Panthers keep Knight while dumping Bobs HORRIBLE contract

Obviously this is assuming he waives, which is not likely this sort of deal would happen regardless of NMC. I get this is all a game but everyone instantly puts NMC when its Detroit, but more often than not players waive when asked flat out, will you waive? we dont want you on our team, and with Yzerman hes done very well at getting people to want to play here.

Something that I very rarely see people address with these bobrovsky mock trades:
Who the hell are we going to sign? A Knight / Montembeault tandem is a recipe for disaster, we need someone who has had many nhl games to ensure we have a decent NHL backup / starter in case Knight falters

Also we don't trade Reinhart to get rid of Bob, that is pretty silly

Either way in order for Detroit to even want to consider taking on this contract, you are going to have to offer alot more than that other wise why do it? We don't need him right now, Reinhart is good but not good enough to warrant taking Bob. Signing him and having Bob would cost like 16+M in cap space. Just doesn't make sense unless the compensation is enormous.
I consider a cap dump to be a second rounder per 5M per season. Two seconds equal a first. His contract would need like 4-5 firsts attached or elite level players otherwise why do it?
We have a good goalie in Ned, we don't need Bob.

Just because he's a seventh rounder doesn't mean anything. He was probably stuck behind a older goalie in his draft year and didn't get much of a chance to play, hence why he was picked late. Whatever the reason, right now he looks to be a solid goalie prospect.

This is a disaster of a deal for Detroit.

Not only do we get stuck with Bob's horrible contract for 5 years (players needing new contracts during those 5 years are: Larkin, Bertuzzi, Suter, Fabbri Rasmussen Zadina, Steohens, Erne, Vrána, Leddy, Stecher, Lindström, Hronek, Nedeljkovic, Berggren, Raymond, Veleno, Smith, Seider, Viro, Sebrango, Barton, Johansson, McIsaac, Bednář, Buium, Cossa, Edvinsson, Eliasson, Grewe, Hanas, Kotkansalo, Mastrosimone, Mazur, Niederbach, Tuomisto, Wallinder), we also give up one of the only two retention slots we have and that we sorely need at the deadline in order to facilitate trades of the 6 expiring contracts we have.

This deal doesn't make sense for either team

Bobrovsky signed in Florida not like he asked to be traded. Sure Yzerman is a good gm but would he really take a playoff team over a midway rebuilding team? Especially with the taxes in florida and how cheap stuff is
