I think the Pens would probably do that.

Ya let’s take Keith at full price but then invest another 4+ million to ensure he’s buried on the third pair.
oilersguy and Duggysdanglers liked this.

Basically same idea I've been pushing but Oilers add Russell or Lagesson instead of the pick for D depth for Pens. Gives Pens that grit and truculence Burke likely wants and Oilers get a insurance policy for 2nd pairing if Keith falters.. issues come with blocking LD prospects in Edmonton if Keith doesn't retire after 1 year but I'd still do it.

Everyone complains about the D.. then complains when people try to fix the D. Literally can't win

True but MP will not fix the D. Keeping Larsson would have fixed the D. We can blame Oilers fans for driving him out of town.

I think the media drove the 1 for 1 more then any fan ever did. Personally felt like Oiler fans were fine with the trade over the last 2-3 seasons maybe Oilers should have gotten a pick or 2 from outside perspective but we really have no idea what GMs know that we don't.

don't watch the penguins too much, id say I watched about 10 of their games last year, is Petterson good for the 2nd pair?

i was hoping it would be somewhat fair, petterson seems to be the ideal LD the oilers could use while pits probably has interest in kassian for scoring and grit, bruke must like him and then saves the pens almost a mil on the cap while also getting a 6th

well at least your defence is set, overpriced? yea but set, keith cici should be super solid third pair not playing major mins or vs the top players on the opponents. its ht eprencence of keith too, not just his play on the ice what the oilers want

Yes. He's a solid #4 guy.
