He had back surgery during his last season in Toronto. Since then he's been very hit and miss with it. People say "Oh, you're paying 4 mil for 8 points" but he was still on pace for like 25 points and that's him without powerplay time (Dougie and Slavin were the QBs). When he's healthy, he's been VERY good in Carolina, posting top 4 metrics. It's just his injury issues. He's not a cap dump because it's gotten to the point where he'll need LTIR to recover, but he's not exactly hanging around.
