Butcher is an intriguing option that could probably be had for cheap, I like it.

Is there any indication though the EDM is shopping Yamamoto??

EDM says no.

Isles say no to St. Louis.

Butcher would be a disaster.

I honestly like the oilers trade. Prefer to keep yam but fact he is still unsigned seems very odd. Because I don’t know what’s happening there if trading is on Holland’s mind for whatever reason I’d take that trade.

No we are not shopping him.

EDM isn’t exactly shopping Yamamoto, however they are in a tight cap situation like the Isles were with Toews, that could cause them to not really have the money for Yam

I think Butcher would be pretty low risk as he’s on an expiring contract anyways and we need a LD, The Isles do overpay for Tarasenko a little bit, but we need the money retained and I think the EDM is fair

Butcher was scratched by the Devils, he is a 6/7 at best. There are 10+ better options then him.

Tarasenko may not be able to play effectively anymore, until he can prove something you do not trade assets for him.

Oilers cap situation gets easier with Klefbom on LTIR.

Since his recall late December 2019, Yamamoto has scored 42 even strength points, tied for 63rd in the league with guys like Svechnikov and Hall. Both those players played more games than Yamamoto did. Would you make the Hurricanes a similar offer for Andrei Svechnikov? It's not close.

I don’t like the idea of moving yam but I could easily see Holland dangling him out there with the expectation of kass playing a more significant role jp archie Ryan as rws. Hyman could also become an option on that side if Holloway and or benson really get rolling. Ryan was brought in to be the right handed centre on pk but no guarantee that’s where they plan on him being 5-5 with a healthy line up. Having Marody pushing for opportunity as well. I don’t like the idea but yam could get squeezed out similar to what we seen happen to bear.

Like Bear, there's zero justification for trading Yamamoto for less than he's worth. Just because he's "getting squeezed out" (he's not, BTW), doesn't mean you trade him for 50 cents on the dollar. That's just stupid asset management.

Wouldn’t consider 2 seconds as 50 cents on the dollar. Again I’m not in favour of the idea but if Holland for whatever reason had him on the outside which I doubt because Tippett seems to like him using to regain draft capital would be more ideal than bringing in a contract. I think he gets signed but until he is kinda preparing for any event.

It is though. Name another 22-year-old forward that has scored as well as Yamamoto (Svechnikov, for instance) that would be available for two 2nds.

But I think its a moot point as Draisaitl loves playing with him and Tippett loves what he brings to the team. He was 3rd on the team for TOI last year: NST

I don't think he's going anywhere.

I don’t want him to go but I’m half expecting it to happen. I’m posting a line up without him and honestly as much as I like yam I kinda like the look of it without him.
