Why would you ever resign Elliott?

I like the Bennett contract. If he reaches his potential, 4mil in the later years of his contract could be a steal but I feel like he'll still get bridged. As of late Elliott has been better so I'm okay with the contract but I wouldn't give him more than 2 years. With Gulutzan behind the bench, Brodie is stapled on the left side so I don't see us bringing in Alzner. I'd rather spend that money to bring in a winger for Bennett (don't think Shinkaruk is ready). Just my 2 cents.

Elliott has been great his last 20 games or so.

1- versteeg will not sign for a 4 yr contract it ill be more of a one to two year contract worth between 2.5 to 3 mil a year
2- brower will not be taken by expansion it'll be bouma or jrykipaka
3-bennet will have a bridge deal of about 3.5 to 4mil a year which i agree with you
4- and defenceman wise time to let our young guys occupy the 3rd pairing role like anderson or ksylington but i also think we might resign deryk england to like a 2 year or 1 year contract say around 2-2.5 a year

If Flames somehow signs Alzner I would pass on Stone and try to sign Vanek for 2-3 years. Also I would not be happy with Rittich as a backup and would much rather target someone like Scott Darling who could be a 1b option and has a great track record as a backup that could push for a #1 role.
