Goaltending is still a sketchy risk.
The defense though and the spread out offense looks much better imho. Only Puljujarvi and McLeod will need a raise next season. Archi is likely replaced with another cheap Perlini or Holloway. Smith backup will be a league min guy. Hopefully Skinner or Konovalov prove worthy of the promotion. Both would be amazing

While Chychrun fits ours better. The overpay is to have Zona retain on Jacob for cap worries of the future. Arizona also saves over 7 mil on the deal besides the huge bump in top prospects and high picks

Its clear Buffalo is going down the same road as Arizona. Yes theyre giving up 2 young guys, but like Zona theyre both really playing for Wright (2022) and Bedard (2023). Stocking up on picks for the next couple seasons will definitely help the odds. And you wont get them by trading pucks and sticks. They also get a youth protector and aid to stay above the cap floor in Kassian
