That D-core doesn't get us past Tampa, Boston or Florida in the 1st round.

You are right but this team is worse. What's the point of Kole Lind? We have Miettinen, Amirov and Robertson up and coming that all would be ahead of him. Makes no sense to acquire him. Sandin isn't ready for top 4 minutes at all, no need to rush his development, he is exactly where we need him on the third pair. I think you probably can try to find better pieces for a Rielly trade or simply not do it all.

i think sandin is ready. especially with brodie as his linemate and possible mentor

No chance. He should at least have a full season under his belt before we can come to that conclusion. He showed against Montreal that he wasn't ready at all. I love Sandin but he can't replace Rielly today. Maybe next season.
