Lindholm, on an expiring contract, would be useful to a contender as a 2/3 Dman. He didn't get a ton of PP time in 2021 (15 total minutes in 18 games), but in previous years he's shown he can man the PP. He is also competent on the PK. It is a little concerning that his on ice save percentage isn't even league average (and that's with Gibson playing behind him), so that might create some pause. He would be an upper tier TDL addition.

At this moment, you might get a late 1st from a contender, plus a B prospect. At the TDL, you might get more from a contender depending on need. He does have a fair amount of playoff experience, so at his age, he'd be a huge get for a contender.

Zero chance anyone outside of the top 8 teams would trade for him though, which will limit prospect quality coming back the other way. The money is a sticky issue too (though less so at the TDL).

Yeah, I think that's why it's way more important for the team to try to re-sign him. They could easily retain 50% if they wanted to increase the return, but IMO, unless you're getting a haul, you're better off trying to keep him. A Hampus/Fowler left side is strong (when healthy) and could definitely help ease young guys like Drysdale into the lineup instead of throwing them to the wolves.

He's definitely young enough to keep around (only being 27). He's probably a top end #3 guy, low end #2 guy in the league, nothing to sneeze at. Also, he could still see a little growth in his game, as dmen mature a little bit later than Fs. But, at his best, he's a .5PPG player (he's current .4PPG) with positive possession numbers that can play 22 minutes/night. If you can get him at 6.5mm x 5 years, and put Drysdale with him, that gives JD someone to lean on while maturing.
