    I can see the Caps not protecting Nisky, but questionable if he would be claimed. At that trade, c'mon a cap dump of servicable Dman for two year and even Ellers may not be that appealing for the NJD. No way NJD are sacrificing a top 5 pick, and a former # 6 pick. Want to get rid of Orpik, hope someone takes him without any return to the Capitals.

    Niskanen is our best defensman after Shatty. Leaving him exposed is just plain stupid.

    But if the Caps are trying to plan for the future, it makes sense to let the older Niskanen go and bring back Alzner and Shattenkirk.

    But Kuznetsov isn't getting that much, and that NJ trade is something I dream of
