Why would Philly go for Filppula? Doesn't make sense to me. He's not better than Streit and they were in the playoff race. Philly's management is just terrible. They make the worst trades and sign players to long extensions then trade them to another team. Either you want the player and you sign him and keep him or you deal him near the end of his deal for what you can get. Signing a player to a very long extension and then trading them for whatever you can get just looks so foolish. They aren't going to be relevant for a long time if they keep pulling amateur moves like that.
