Dermott plus 2nd sounds about right...Although Devils would probably prefer a prospect instead of Dermott, even if it meant eating some salary.

Oh no doubt he would be an upgrade over Holl. Way less of one than anyone wants to admit but an upgrade for sure. Although he does make double Holl so it really doesn't make sense and the ask is simply insane anyways.

I don't think he would be an upgrade over anyone. What he does both Rielly and Muzzin are way better. Even Dermott and Holl offer more benefit defensively than Subban and since he would never get much PP time he's not really needed. I'd be interested in giving him a bottom pair role but not for 4.5 million. Or at the cost of valuable depth.

Nostalgia. Subban's strengths has been transition, PP and denying zone entries. Over the past 3 seasons his ability to deny zone entries has disappeared. He won't get PP time in TO and his transition play has waned as well. He's not really an upgrade anymore.
