I’m not gonna flame, but that’s not enough for Eichel and Dahlin. They don’t have the pieces for them honestly.

My first instinct was huge overpay as I was thinking eichel plus a little. But thats a silly outlook. Dahlin I'd a big piece himself and really hard to value.

Frankly I just can't wrap my head around the value necessary for a trade like this. I suspect it's not enough for Buffalo, but I just can't see the leafs trading much more than this for anything

I'd assume the asking price for Dahlin would be almost on par with the price for Eichel. Sure, he had a poor statistical season last year, but the kid is an absolute stud. What would someone have to offersheet him for to get Buffalo to consider taking the picks? Something in the 4 x 1st range?

I think my favorite Dahlin stat right now is that his expected +/- was -0.7, while his actual +/- was -36 (Yes, +/- is a terrible stat...still a fun fact though!)

As I said I don't even know how to value dahlin. So much upside. Two good to very good seasons and frankly better than anyone could expect for anyone but a generational player and one down year.

Generational talent thought of prior to draft...

So hard to value

100%. If I'm the Sabres right now, I'm opening the wallet to get him signed long term and start some sort of stability to their program.

They might want to sign him, but does he want to be a part of that program any more?
