Alternate 2021-2022 Offseason

Created by: Mdness94
Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 9, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What I would've done this offseason

This is all takes place before the signing window and on the first few days of free agency.

OVERALL, It's not much different tbh. I was considering protecting McCann and Kerfoot and letting Seattle take Holl but considering how the free agency period played out, I don't think there were many good RD options left on the table. I think Dubas made the right move on that.

I would trade Reilly cause I think the most likely outcome at this point would be letting him walk. I think the Kings would make sense, before they sign Edler.

I would sign

Bonino and Murray. If anything give they a couple of extra hundred thousand dollars to entice them to come to TO. For arguments sake, give the leafs 900k left in space.

I wouldn't sign

Kampf. I think he's okay, I don't like how limited he is. For that money, which isn't much on a grander scale considering the league. However it is too much for this team where he will be a shutdown 3-4 C.

I wouldn't trade Kaliyev for Rielly 1-for-1, even with an extension in place for Rielly.

Can't wait for you to watch Kämpf play. Clearly a casual that only looks at points. You are in for a treat my friend.

Dude.... I'm on a site that's main focus is on the NHL Salary Cap lmao Do you know how niche that is? Saying I'm a "casual" is wrong. While I haven't seen him play much, I saw some advanced numbers and heard what some people said so I'm basing my opinion on that. I am really hoping you're right and I'm wrong man don't get me wrong. It's definitely possible he's gonna be good for the leafs!

You gotta give to get. Jones and Rattoninen got more and Reilly is a much better defenseman imo.

I'm sure that's true, but I'd rather not have Rielly than give up Kaliyev.
