Pettersson is not the guy the Panthers are looking for. They have no interest for him

They shouldn’t be but yet took on Hornqvist, Bennett, and Reinhart when they shouldn’t have been increasing their long term cap knowing Barkov would be up and die a huge payday.

Yeah but they've already done that! Haha

You forgot verhaeghe and Montour too!

The hornqvist wasn't a huge add as they subtracted Matheson and he was at least 4, no?

Yeah and that Bob contract 😂, but the Matheson for Hornqvist still added a few hundred thousand for the Barkov UFA year lol. They’ve totally won that stuff short term but it essentially cost them Barkov 😂

Cause yeah, teams are totally going to pay and want to take on a guy who is on the steep decline at 5.3 million cap hit and terrible buyout. Every team will want to do that. And no, you won’t have plenty of space to sign Barkov just by trading Hornqvist. You do still need to have a team around Barkov. Florida only has like 12 players under contract next season and only like 14-15 million in cap space. And that’s only if the cap goes up the 1 million it’s projected to.

What has indicated that he is on a sharp decline? And we have plenty of ELC rookies that can come in and fill spots in the lineup. After 2023 we will likely have to make some tough decisions, with Weegar and Huberdeau needing new contracts.

You'll look like such a fool when he signs.

He will be 35 and injury prone now. He used to never get injured. He plays a style that doesn’t suit older players lol. And he also has an 8 team no trade list. So no contender or even semi-contender will have the room to fit him. He likely won’t want to go to a bottom feeder with cap space.

And no I won’t look like a fool. If he signs it’s cause he takes a discount to stay in florida lol.
