This is a good question. I don't think there is currently a "reasonable" value to him. I don't say that to be mean, I say that because he fills a need that the Hawks have. Stan is currently playing games with Dylan Strome. BUT to Stan's credit...jobs aren't given they're earned. Do I think Stan's getting petty with his games by sending DStrome to the propsect game?!?! Absolutely, that's petty AF! But that's besides the point. Stan is VERY high on Borgstrom. I bet that HE believes Borgstrom can be a solid #2C with Toews going to #3C and he gets older.

(As a side, no one knows about Toews situation either. The latest speculation is that he's always had this auto-immune syndrome, but it's been recently made public that he has COVID antibodies and the combination of these two factors could have made him a "COVID Long Hauler". SO...as I'm NOT AT ALL a doctor...some people are thinking he'll be fine in the long run, but it's purely speculation and Borgstrom actually helps in this department too.)

Fair enough, I just saw most Hawks lineups have Borgstrom as a 3C behind Toews and Strome and with Dach coming soon that might decrease his ability to get in the Hawks lineup even more.

I hope Toews is ok, I always liked him, he has always been a great character guy and one of the best leaders a team could ask for.

You're correct about EVERYTHING above. I don't even have Borgstrom as a #3C as of today. Heck, you're also right to be asking what he's worth! The Hawks have 7 or 8 NHL Centermen right now...too many. I'm not saying they have a ton of top tier Centers...just a healthy competition. Whomever loses out will be available IMO...and then they'll likely be at a discount because they lost out.

Great cause I am worried about Poehling, IMO he looks disinterested in playing for Montreal. He floats most of the time and even when he was drafted did not really seem like he cared or wanted to be in Montreal. Then he returned to school to finish off his college career and was only weeks from becoming a UFA, everything was pointing towards him not wanting to play for Montreal. Maybe I am reading too much into it but after 3 years you would think that he would have had more incentive to play hard every shift in camp, especially now with a good chance of him making the team.
