OMFG, the third line is not broke. Fans need to realize the Evans is 3C and Poehling is 4C. At least for now

I personally think Vilardi is a huge upgrade on Evans.
Nothing against Evans but he had 3 goals last year at 25yo.

I also think habs can afford to trade Norlinder or Romanov as Guhle and Harris should NHL ready quite soon.

Vilardi costs more than just Romanov.

Very bad idea to trade Romanov. He's the most NHL ready Dman out of the group you named off and has probably the highest ceiling out of them all besides maybe Guhle.

Defintly the more NHL ready but probably the highest trade value as well.

Habs wont have enough spot in the lineup for Romanov, Guhle, Harris & Norlinder and Center prospect poll is pretty weak.

I think you'd be surprised. With their top-2 C's locked in for atleast the next 3 years, and Byfield needing time at Centre thats NOT on the 4th line, i think Vilardi is expendable to the Kings. Plus they have sooo many Right shot forwards coming up in the system too, they'd be smart to move him for a Dman imo

Expendable doesn't meant that they're going to trade him for less than he's worth.

That's how GMs get fired. They may very well end up trading Vilardi, but not without shopping him around the league. A lot of teams will give up more than just Romanov.

We shall see. A lot of GMs have done a LOT worse than Romanov, and have not been fired. Such is the business of being in the boys club

It would be like LA offering Kupari for Caufield because Montreal needs centers. Sure it solves the positional need, but Montreal would be giving up the much better player in the trade.

That's not anywhere near the same thing and you know it. And if you don't, I can't help you.

Vilardi >>> Romanov
Caufield >>> Kupari

What's the difference?
