Hard to contend when you're not cap compliant. Most likely they'll have to make more trades to fit Eichel in once he's healthy, it also depends on the timeline of his recovery though.

I could see that loop hole being exploited again however the league might pay closer attention and keep a closer eye on eichel status not only because Tampa won the cup using the loop hole but they bragged about it after that’s the part Vegas should be careful about. What if the league starts having a third party doctor come in and confirm if a player is or isn’t playable at the end of season? It’s a very easy fix that I’m sure plenty of gms would push for.
