    Arizona has no reason to give up on Duclair and pursue an aging defenseman for 4.5M for the next 4 years. Swapping the picks isn't enough. I'd think Chayka will listen to offers like this, but come back with something like Staal (in full) + 2nd for a 4th, then find the teams would have to meet somewhere in-between.

    Detroit offered Smith far more, No way does Brendan Smith sign for that little. That's just a $500,000 raise and he's a pending UFA in a D market that lacks a lot of talent other then Shattenkirk.

    MIka has been overpaid by everyone on here imo. Doesn't deserve more than 4 years and a 3 year bridge deal. Prove he can be a top center

    I agree, but at the same time, I dont think that he can further develop into a top center. He may be overpaid, but its around what they were paying Brassard before they traded him to Ottawa. I also dont understand how the Arizona deal makes sense for Chayka.

    Originally I would have given "ZibadNedved" 5x5.2m, but he deserves more like 2x3.9m bridge deal. Smith isn't worth more than that. Duclair seems to be the next Etem. VGK don't want KK.
