Offseason Dealin' #Defense

Created by: KyBull
Team: 2017-18 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 15, 2017
Published: Mar. 15, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This absolutely addresses defense - younger, decently sized, and more skilled.

The offense, however, added Radulov because of his connection to Valry and the Avs have big Z and Grigo, so plenty of Russians. But I am not sure if this is a dominant O, likely more is needed there.

Right?! I was actually contemplating tweeting this to the Avs beat writers, etc.

I like it! I like the idea of the Avs trading down a few spots and selecting a top D prospect while gaining additional assets. The Duchene trade looks good too. If the Avs can convince a few decent free agents (under 35!!) To sign in the next couple years they should be alright

That package from NYI is way too much. Remember Duchene is a scoring Forward that's only scored 60 or more points twice in 8 seasons and none in the last 3. 60 points is the minimum for a real #1C. He's worth Harmonic and Barzal but that's it. And they probably don't want to take on Colborne either.

    Am I correct in that:
Devs move from 4th to 1st and the price is Zacha and a 2nd?
And for that we get Nolan and a 6th?

If so, that's just not going to happen, there is enough talent in the top 4 to keep the pick (3-Cs and 1-D all of which we can use, and more) and Zacha + the 2nd. If it were just a 2nd maybe an add (that is not our 20 yr old #6 pick from 2 drafts back). Why do you think Shero would do that? To date he has not failed when making moves like this, taking a player too early like D. Pouliot, sure, not moving assets.

And as NobodyCares says above too much for MD, woudl have been done if they could have gotten those assets at deadline
