What I see us doing

Created by: Connor_McJesus_97
Team: 2022-23 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 10, 2021
Published: Nov. 10, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Korpisalo signs a 1 year to prove it contract and when Keith's contract runs out you can then extend him to a longer deal. Puljujarvi has been so good and this deal will look like an absolute steal in 3-4 years. Just gotta survive the caphell till then. We should probably add something at TD whatever that may be. Maybe a D if we need that or a goalie if we need that. We should be fine with our forward core.

Lavoie will get some NHL time and if he does well we use him where he fits well. For example he can get used when we get injuries. Broberg or Samorukov will step in to replace Barrie.

EDM
  1. 2023 3rd round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
the though process here is that Chychrun gets a playmate that can help him in the offensive zone and Arizona can then swap Barrie with money retained in 2023.
ARI
  1. Barrie, Tyson
Additional Details:
He is too bad defensively and we could really use that money so I would like to see him go

I don't see Yamamoto being there beyond the 2022 TDL. I think he will be used as a chip to get someone to improve.

Goaltending for next year is tough to predict. Ideally start the year with smith and skinner and let that ride until deadline by then have a really good idea of how much can depend on skinner moving forward. In that event probably see a veteran 3rd string goalie signed just for insurance. He’s gotta be able to pass threw waivers or maybe waivers is how we get that insurance. That’s a big stumbling block with korp.

Korpisalo has been in the league for 7 years and has sucked every year except the 1st. There's nothing to "prove" - he's an AHL goalie.
