You could probably find a way to get Okposo in the lineup, I think he'd be better than Aube-Kubel at least. Otherwise, this is a good team, though with Coots on the 3rd line you could probably afford to move Leon to the wing and get a good and cheap 4th line center (Roy, Sturm, etc.). As is, however, I say this team loses in the conference finals more often than not.
Hanifin is totally fine? He never quite took off like it looked like he could have as a 19-20 year old, but he's effective top 4 Dman, and his contract is hardly a problem. He's really come a long way in fixing his Terrible defensive game. He doesn't really do anything at a really high level, but he does everything at an average to slightly-above-average level, and he can do it while playing north of 20 minutes a night against any competition. it's not a great contract by any stretch, but at best he's like 400k overpaid, and is debatably below market price for a Dman of his level.

Missed that one. Yeah that makes total sense. That said, It's really only bad on the term because of his age. It would be a bad contract to trade for, because there's gonna be huge diminishing returns on the player, but to this point in the contract I think he's totally performed up to his AAV. This year might be the beginning of the end though.

I look at it like I wouldn't pay Backlund more than 3.5 maybe 3.75. So for me at least, with comparable deals Backlund is pretty overpaid.
